Everything is political.

Neutrality means supporting the status quo. I despise the status quo, so I take a political stance. Most of what I read and watch on my free time, therefore, is political. No surprises regarding my book and podcasts recommendations, then!

This is my favorite podcast by far. It focuses on how the media, including Hollywood and tv shows, sell propaganda to us all the time. It covers extremely diverse topics, from fatphobia, meritocracy, colonial superiority, propaganda against worker unions, and much, much more. They are incredible fun to hear, always brings in people who work on these topics. I leave some of the coolest episodes I’ve heard with them:

Lumping together conspiracy theories, from Qanon, to Saddam Hussein being behind the 9/11 attacks. Furthermore, friendlier conspiracy theories, such as the havannah syndrome, were allowed to spread more rapidly.

Anti-worker union talk is widespread in the media:

How fatphobia is linked to racism, classism, and sexism, despite the science showing that overweight people have longer life expectancy than ‘normal’ weight people.

Current Affairs – In addition to having an incredibly interesting, fun, and well-written magazine that covers a wide variety of topics, has a podcast where they invite writers and academics to discuss books. Many of the recommendations I described above I heard first in this podcast. For example, listen to these episodes:

On McKinsey (the largest consulting firm in the world, even if you thought they make a lot of damage, it’s a lot worse than you think):
